Tiny Thong Bikinis from Sexy Lime

If you follow us on Twitter you may have caught that we did our catalog shoot yesterday.  Marisa, Lucy and I have worked our assess off for the last few months to get ready for this and no matter what I did I felt supremely under prepared to tackle something of this size.  30 different bikinis (actually it was like 100 bikini because we had various sizes of each bikini), 6 different models, a boat load of photographers and a video crew.  Wow!!  Let alone trying to figure out what models would look best in a tiny little micro bikini or which one would wear a thong bikini.  Needless to say it was a learning experience and while I think we acquitted ourselves very well I still which we had done a few things a little differently….

1) I bought way too much food – models don’t eat a lot when they are going to photographed wearing teeny, sexy bikinis.

1B) In all seriousness – even with all the preparation that we did I wish we had done a little more.  I should have had a better plan for getting all the different models into the different bikinis.  I had a plan, in my overloaded brain, that pretty much went out the door pretty much the second the models walked in the door.

2) START EARLIER – yeah, we should have been rolling at about 8 but instead we really didn’t start shooting until almost 2PM.  Granted, cute little scrunch butt Brazilian bikinis are still sexy regardless of the time time of day – it’s a little easier to shoot them outside when it’s not 7:30PM.  Won’t let this one happen again.

3) With 6 models we needed like 3 make up artists and hair stylists.  We were woefully under prepared here.  In our defense we did have one MUA that didn’t show up and the girls were great about doing all their own hair and make up but more is better.  Learned that one the hard way.

4) Less is more.  We should have broken up the catalog shoot into several different shoots.  We could have focused on single model, in a handful of styles and probably wouldn’t have been as rushed.  We could have still used all the different girls and shot all the styles over the span of a couple of weeks but it would have been better to just throw four or five sexy bikinis on one model during a single session and shot the crap out of those looks in one session.

5) We need a nude model for some of our micro bikinis.  We have a few sheer bikinis that aren’t for the faint of heart and we really needed a model that was totally comfortable rocking something that shows everything.  Not that we are running a porn site and honestly we did have a couple of girls that stepped up and were champs about wearing them but you could see they were a little hesitant.  We are really grateful to these ladies for being pros and doing this but I felt really bad about having to “talk them into” them.

All and all the shoot came off really well.  I’m excited to see the photos!!  There was zero drama and everybody was really great to have around, work with and meet.  I’ll send some more thanks and shout outs through the blog later this week and hopefully we’ll start getting some of the videos and photos in over the next few days and can we can do profiles of all the girls and crew.

Thanks again to everybody that helped out yesterday – we couldn’t have pulled it off without you.  And I seriously mean that!!
