About

There are lots of facets to Sexy Lime Surf Co.  Where to start…..

Probably the easiest place to start is with all the biographical data about Sexy Lime Surf Co.  Then we can get into the “stuff” that’s a little more nuanced.

Founded:  January 2011
Owners:  Travis & MarisaSLSC_0389_large-edit
Location:  Freeport, NY (That’s Long Island for the non-NY’er crowd)
What: Teeny, Tiny bikinis (and eventually board shorts) for beautiful women
Why: I couldn’t find a bikini small and classy enough for Marisa that I liked
How: We believe in doing business the old fashion way – top notch customer service, uncompromising quality, affordable prices all done here in the USA.
When: In this for the long haul – when we make and sell you a piece of swimwear we want you to be a customer for life.  And more importantly we strive to be a be a friend and foster a relationship with you that is bigger than a couple of bikinis.
Where:  It would probably be easier to lie to you and tell you that we work out of some fancy building in Midtown Manhattan – but after a couple of emails you would probably see right through it.  Sexy Lime runs out of variety of different locations including our home for the time being.  We’ve created (with significant help from Lucy) a manufacturing studio in NJ where our suits are constructed. The rest of the business runs from our home on Long Island.
Slogan: Life’s a Beach – Add Some Lime
Vision:  A work in progress
Mission: Another work in progress

For a little more about us and making a difference…..

Now that we have that out of the way we can get into the part of Sexy Lime that really matters – the people.  I’ve never wanted to be a nameless, faceless company that you could never know.  If I have the choice I always want to do business with somebody I can trust and that starts by getting to know the people – not the business.

So here is Sexy Lime Surf Co:

Travis – Big Kahuna

Some people believe that entrepreneurs are born.  Some people believe they are made.  I’m living breathing proof that entrepreneurs are both.  I’m a country boy that is living in the big city and I’m much more comfortable in my shorts and flip flops than I will ever be in a suit and tie sitting in a conference room in a Manhattan office building.  I received my “street” MBA in starting up (with a great group of friends) a software business back in Colorado back in the late ’90′s.  We made it when we sold our business to a NYC based Fortune 300 company and I figured that was just the start of the great things to come.  And it was!

In order to take the “next step” we (Marisa and I are married if you haven’t guessed that by now) moved to NYC so I could become the next big thing for this Fortune 300 company.  And over the last 3 years what I’ve figured out is that I don’t really care to be the next big thing for this company.  It’s not that I don’t like the people I work with or don’t believe in what we do.  It’s quite the opposite and for that I’m very appreciative!  I’ve just come to the realization over the last year that I want to be the next big thing for Marisa and I.  Be able to do what I love (work with people, travel, and sign my own checks), make a difference (not in the fashion world but in my community) and do it my way (locally, honestly and take it personally).  That’s not too much to ask – is it?

If you take the time to read this or read any of my blog posts you’ll hopefully find out that my interests are varied and my opinions strong.  If you expect to read highly intellectual, deeply enlightening posts you can move on now.  If you’d like to see some beautiful women wearing tiny bikinis with a little honest commentary tossed in on sports, politics, business, religion and life in general then you are in the right place.

I told you above this business for us, and for me, is about the people, the friends, the relationships and the future.  So if you are in NYC and are looking for somebody to split the bar tab with or need a tour guide to Yankees Stadium or CitiField give me a shout or drop me a line.  We’d love to meet you!!
